Rose Cottage, located at Sheffield Children's Hospital, is the region’s paediatric mortuary.

The mortuary required a full renovation which gave us the opportunity to approach the project in a holistic way; from the tonal palette, furniture and newly commissioned artworks.

We invited artist and illustrator Sara Boccaccini Meadows to design tranquil watercolours which were worked up into large-scale pieces and are unique to the scheme.

Bespoke commissions were also created by Roanna Wells, Helen Musselwhite and Lucy Freeman. The intricate nature of these works embodies an ethos of making that reflects the care and attention deserved by our most sacrosanct space.
